Excitebots Fails To Excite At Retail

Excitebots

Oh dear. Another great game, another sales shame! In the 10 days Excitebots: Trick Racing was on sale in April in North America, only 13,000 copies of the game were sold. Comparitively, that is worse than Madworld and House Of The Dead: Overkill which sold 66,000 and 45,000 copies respectively in their first 20 days on sale. This is even more shocking when considering it’s a first party release, not third party.

Maybe the wacky bug racers and ‘super-sandwich’ stunts were too far out for some people and maybe this is an extreme case of Nintendo’s ‘long-tail’ sales model it has mentioned so much recently. If it is then sales should pick up around December time!
