Last weeks Media Create hardware sales are in for Japan and read very similar to the week before with the exception of the PSP which had a nice 28k increase. This has enabled it to keep at the top of the charst even if you combine all three DS interations.

All the information we had about JRPG “The Last Story” from Mistwalker was the game title and the fact that it is being developed for Wii. Now though we have… not much more! This developer video from EA showcasing “Tiger Woods 11” on Wii gives first insight into the new features the game will have this year. Among them is a first person viewpoint of swinging your clubs which looks pretty cool to us! This is only an option, so don’t worry you are not forced to use i if you don’t want to, however it certainly looks like this years game will be the most realistic golf game to date.

Either the person playing this is just very good at it or the game is very easy! Anyway this is the first look at WiiWare title “Darts Rage“.

The darts mini-game on “Super Monkey Ball” was one of my favorites where you held the wiimote as a dart and threw it. Not sure the controls on this game look so innovative judging by this video but let’s hope they are and it’s as fun to play as the monkey version.

EA have announced that their top-selling Wii-fitness-a-thon “EA Sports Active” will see a follow up later this year imaginatively titled “EA Sports Active 2.0“!

Tarrnie Williams, Executive Producer at EA says that the game “will define a new era of interactive fitness with the use of innovative motion sensor peripherals and a heart rate monitor that provide users with a fitness experience delivering real, measurable results“. Who are we to argue?

This time around the game will also be available for PS3 and iPhone/iTouch and it includes a heart rate monitor which sees EA taking on Nintendo at their own game with the release of the Vitality Sensor also due out later this year.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Reggie has been clearing the air about where the company stands in relation to Apple as a competitor, new technology for their hardware such as HD and 3D and plenty of other topics.

Reggie Fils-Aime on Apple and their technology…

“There’s been no data to suggest an encroachment on our business. The iPhone has been out on the marketplace for just a couple of years. In the last two years we’ve set two records on our DS business, last year selling over 11.2 million units. So there’s been no evidence that we’ve lost any business to that competitor.

On the other hand, we recognize that consumers have a limited amount of entertainment time, and anything that takes entertainment time away from the Nintendo DS, DSi and Wii is a competitor. And so from that standpoint, we need to build experiences that are compelling and sticky, and that consumers can get excited about. That’s our challenge.”

Neogaf have uncovered a few new juicy details for the upcoming “Sonic 4: Episode 1” courtesy of Game Informer’s recent interview with Takashi Iizuka.

• “Fans will be very pleased with the cast in episode 2.”

• Episode 1 is a prologue

• There will be moves such as Spin Dash, Rolling Attack, homing attack, unknown move

• Izuka on homing attack: “I wanted the user to enjoy an easy-to-play feeling by the attack sequence that this [homing attack] allows, and find the fun routes in the air.”
