IGN Impressed With Wii MotionPlus

Yesterday the IGN Nintendo team got their hands on the Wii MotionPlus peripheral and had some extended playtime with TIger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis from EA.

It’s pleasing to hear that the hype and expectations of the device are warranted. Bozon had this to say on his blog:

“We just got in Wii MotionPlus today along with Tiger Woods and Grand Slam Tennis, and after many hours of playing (and trying to do work amidst even more playing) it’s obvious that WM+ is as big as everyone expects it will be. The bar is being raised on the contol front. This is the first time I’ve truly felt like motion has been done better than in Wii Sports Bowling, and frankly I don’t want a single other Wii title that uses motion without it. Hopefully the “waggle” days are over… at least for the games that matter.”

As a side note, Matt from IGN also noted that the add-on can be freed from the rubber sleeve after all. The other day it was reported that Wii MotionPlus was ‘embedded’ to the silicon jacket. Good stuff!
