Peter Moore: EA Is Under-Performing On Wii

The EA Sports head executive, Peter Moore, has spoken of EA’s laclustre performance on Wii so far.

Talking in an exlcusive interview to UK website Eurogamer, Moore states that “I think we need to continue to work on the Wii. When I look at the attach rate on the Wii of our software to where I think we should be, we’re under-performing still, we need to do much better.” More on Moore after the jump.

Moore goes on to say that the Wii continues to be a challenge for all developers, not just EA:

“Wii continues to bring new people into our business, and boy are we thankful for that,” he said. “And we as an industry need to continue to take advantage of that and maybe make better games for the Wii, and make sure we’re delivering entertainment that that consumer wants at that time.”

With EA’s next generation of sports titles on Wii – Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis – coming this summer, the development powerhouse has re-focused their strategy to include support for Nintendo’s wiimote peripheral, Wii MotionPlus.

“MotionPlus gives us a great opportunity really now to take advantage of the Wii. Those two titles couldn’t come at a better time for us, nor for Nintendo quite frankly.” Moore finished.
