Final Fantasy Virtual Console

The game that started Squaresoft’s (now Square Enix) hugely popular RPG franchise back in 1987 – Final Fantasy – is being released  on the Japanese Virtual Console in May, Nintendo announced.

The game was originally developed for the Famicom (NES) by producer Hironobu Sakaguchi. It was then later published by Nintendo for release in North America in 1990. Since then the franchise has grown to over thirteen titles, in addition to the many spin-offs over multiple consoles.

Famicom Wars will also see release in the same month in Japan, both priced 500 Nintendo points. No news as yet on a western release however!
