Today marks the day that the first Wii MotionPlus enabled game hits the shelves. In the U.S. anyway.
EA’s ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10′ and ‘Grand Slam Tennis’ are now available with enhanced one-to-one motion control that will set the bar for sports games of the future and accuarcy previously unseen in a videogame so far.
Grand Slam Tennis is out in Europe June 12th and Tiger Woods follows July 12th, both bundled with the Wii MotionPlus peripheral.
It’s not long now before EA’s Grand Slam Tennis takes on Sega’s Virtua Tennis as both go head-to-head in June.
Each game supports the new Wii MotionPlus peripheral and while they both have a different graphical style, the one-to-one control of your swing should mean thay both play similarly or atleast accurately!
We are looking forward to seeing which one comes out on top but don’t know where to put our money!

Yesterday the IGN Nintendo team got their hands on the Wii MotionPlus peripheral and had some extended playtime with TIger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis from EA.
It’s pleasing to hear that the hype and expectations of the device are warranted. Bozon had this to say on his blog:
“We just got in Wii MotionPlus today along with Tiger Woods and Grand Slam Tennis, and after many hours of playing (and trying to do work amidst even more playing) it’s obvious that WM+ is as big as everyone expects it will be. The bar is being raised on the contol front. This is the first time I’ve truly felt like motion has been done better than in Wii Sports Bowling, and frankly I don’t want a single other Wii title that uses motion without it. Hopefully the “waggle” days are over… at least for the games that matter.”
As a side note, Matt from IGN also noted that the add-on can be freed from the rubber sleeve after all. The other day it was reported that Wii MotionPlus was ‘embedded’ to the silicon jacket. Good stuff!
Here is a bit of a rareity. New games coming earlier than their original release date! Both EA Sports titles Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis will now be releasing in North America on June 8th. Ok, so that’s only a week earlier but it’s better than being late!
Tiger and Tennis take advantage of the new Wii MotionPlus wiimote peripheral offering one to one motion control and the games now coincide with the release of the peripheral.
Not long to wait now!

The EA Sports head executive, Peter Moore, has spoken of EA’s laclustre performance on Wii so far.
Talking in an exlcusive interview to UK website Eurogamer, Moore states that “I think we need to continue to work on the Wii. When I look at the attach rate on the Wii of our software to where I think we should be, we’re under-performing still, we need to do much better.” More on Moore after the jump. Read more…
Following on from our Tiger Woods Wii MP demo yesterday comes a similar demonstration for EA’s second sports title to use the wiimote add-on – Grand Slam Tennis. Producer, Thomas Singleton explains the games new controls just incase you were unsure of how they were going to work!
Both Tiger Woods 2010 and Grand Slam Tennis will be bundled with Wii MotionPlus in Europe, EA said today. Tiger will also get a bundle in North America, though strangely Grand Slam Tennis will not in the region. The U.K. will pay £49.99 and the U.S. $59.99.
This news now means there will be a game available at launch to take advantage of the new Wiimote accessory. Peter Moore, President of EA Sports had this to say: Read more…
