Well it does in Europe atleast. The Hanabi festival is named after the infamous Japanese fireworks festivals and brings with it WiiWare downloads of games that are Japanese centric and were unavailable in Europe originally.
This year the virtual festival starts 12th March and includes games such as “Sin & Punishment“, “Lode Runner” and “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood”.

You lucky Europeans, you… Well lucky in that NOE have announced you will be receiving the fourth Hanabi Festival starting yesterday until July 24th on the Virtual Console. Unlucky, though that you didn’t get the games in your region the first time round!
The first two games are now aailable – ‘Ogre Battle’ and ‘Pulseman’ with the following on the way over the next few weeks:
The remaining import games for July are:
- Bomberman ’94 (Turbografx)
- Detana!! Twinbee (Turbografx)
- Kirby’s Dream Land 3 (SNES)
- MUSHA (Mega Drive)
- Smash Table Tennis (NES)
- Zoda’s Revenge: StarTropics II (NES)
Well done to Nintendo for the effort with releasing these games in Europe at last, but shame on you for charging and extra 100 Nintendo points in the process!
