Murumasa Demon Blade

Ignition Entertainment have opened the western website of the gorgeous looking ‘Murumasa: Demon Blade‘, which can be found right here. The game, which has won many awards for it’s art-style and originality is still on for a 2009 release and the website has the usual goodies you would find on a game site like wallpapers, videos, news, screenshots blah de blah.

All very tasteful though and if you don’t already know much about this Wii game, where have you been? Get over to their site to educate yourself.

Muramasa Pre Order Scroll

It is well known that Japan gets the best gaming goodies, limited editions and pre-order bonuses, while the rest of the world generally drool with gealousy. ‘Muramasa: The Demon Blade’ for example came with a very tasty five-foot scroll of stage and character art which we had down as just another Japanese exclusive.

It turns out that this time around, courtesy of Gamestop, U.S. customers who pre-order the game prior to the  September 1st release date (not confirmed) will get the exact same scroll. Only the exact same scroll may be slightly different as we cannot tell what is on the back but hey it’s coming in some shape or form!

Good news all round, but no news on a European or Australian scroll just yet.

Keep your toes crossed!

Thanks Joystiq

I can’t get enough of this game, which is good seeing as GameTrailers have compiled a nice lengthy video preview above to keep me going until the game’s release for Wii in July.

Muramasa has impressed critics so far and the combination of old school gameplay, great art style and gorgeous graphics has got me wanting more. Roll on July.

UPDATED

The North American publisher of Muramasa: The Demon Blade – XSeed – has announced that infact it will not be publishing the title in the U.S as previously thought. Though this is not good news for those anticipating the release of the game in the west, we imaine it will not be long before a replacement publisher steps up to the plate to release Vanillaware’s title overseas.

The game received critical acclaim in Japan and entered the Japanese charts in second position, however maybe XSeed have been panicked by the recent poor sales of ‘mature’ Wii and DS titles. Hit the jump to read what XSeed had to say on the matter. Read more…
