Industrygamers recently had an interview with Sony Worldwide Studios Vice President Scott Rohde at GDC. The VP went on to state that he thinks the new Sony move peripheral has many advantages of the Wiimote and believes that Wii owners will naturally ‘upgrade’ to the PS3 because of it.
I can’t help but think back to when the Wii was announced and Sony were calling the Wii a ‘fad’ and a ‘gimmick’, oh how times have changed! They have certainly changed their tune since anyway.
IG: From what the third parties have been saying over the past few months, and from what I’ve seen here today, the experiences are very reminiscent of the types of things you’d see on the Wii. Are you concerned about this being too much like a Wii experience? Are you concerned that the games will be basically HD ports of Wii games? How do you separate yourself from the pack?

This is news that we were definitely not wanting to come true here at nin-ten-do.com – Wii MotionPlus will be “embedded” into the wiimote rubber jacket that comes with it.
In episode 47 of the IGN ‘Nintendo Voice Chat‘ podcast, Matt Casamassina and co. have indirectly confirmed it to be the case. The wiimote condom could be glued, screwed or even melted onto the Wii MotionPlus add-on, we are not sure yet. However, we do know that we’ll be trying our hardest to remove the damn thing from the rubber housing when they finally do find their way into our grubby mitts.
Let’s hope that Nintendo change their stance on this and at least let gamers have the option to use the rubber jacket or not, it’s only fair isn’t it, seeing as we pay for them? If not and you feel the same way as us about the rubbery sock, get ready to dig out your scissors and scalpel!

Recently Sony stated that they “owned the living room,” while “Nintendo owned the closet”.
Rumours have once again flared up of Sony announcing a wiimote-like controller for their Playstation 3 at this years E3 expo. While this story is purely rumour and speculation, if there is any truth to it, why would Sony take cues from the console in the closet?
E3 starts in about a month so we will know soon if this is speculation or if Sony appear to have been a little hypocritical recently.
