WiiWare, Virtual Console & DSiWare Releases (PAL)

Some great games on this weeks PAL update. First up is the mind-melting ‘Bit. Trip Core‘ on WiiWare which is as addictive and difficult as the original Bit. Trip Beat. Classic ‘Pilotwings‘ from the SNES also makes its way to Wii via Virtual Console and the excellent ‘Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again’ on DSi.

WiiWare

Title: BIT. TRIP CORE
Price: 600 Nintendo Points
A sequel to the previously released WiiWare title BIT. TRIP BEAT, the game has you shooting lasers at little pixels which fly toward you from all directions in accordance with the beat. You’re positioned in the center of the screen unlike its predecessor which has you rebounding pixels from the left.

Title: Arkanoid Plus
Price: 800 Nintendo Points
Another member of the Bubble Bobble series, your aim in this classic arcade game is you move the little spacecraft at the bottom of the screen in turn rebounding a ball towards all the various coloured bricks which smash upon contact. Various power ups fall towards the craft when certain bricks are broken giving you a larger ship, the ability to hold the ball or even shoot lasers.

Virtual Console

Title: Pilotwings
Price: 800 Nintendo Points
A SNES flight simulator released in 1990, this title features 2.5D graphics as you fly, hover and skydive you way through various levels. The game features an unlockable secret which turns your characters into various types of birds.

DSiWare

Title: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again
Price: 800 Nintendo Points
Mario and Pauline celebrate the opening of their recently expanded toy theme park. With everyone invited to celebrate except for Donkey Kong, he decides to crash the party and once again kidnap Pauline thus sending Mario and his little toys on yet another mission. The game is filled with totally new stages and if that’s not enough you can simply create your own or even download and submit stages online via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Title: Pop + Solo
Price: 500 Nintendo Points
Australian publishers Nnooo have released a portable version of their WiiWare bubble popping title. Featuring all the modes from the WiiWare version, Pop + Solo also features an Adventure and Challenged mode with heaps of new badges to collect. Adventure mode features several bosses you must defeat whilst Challenged allows you to create your own custom stages.
