At Nintendo’s developer roundtable during E3 earlier this week, Shigeru Miyamoto showed some concept art from the upcoming new Zelda for the Wii. The image was supposed to remain un-shown to the public, however it has now found its way onto the Internet.
Rumours abound that the female figure in the foreground is a living incarnation of Link’s Mastersword and I have to agree that they could be onto something. Her cloak looks a similar shape to the swords guard and and the design on her front looks familiar. Also Link is not holding his sword in the concept drawing though he is his shield.
Whether this rumour has any truth to it will likely remain unknown for some time but we’re very keen to know more. Maybe Tokyo Game Show later in the year will reveal more details.

Update – Master Sword Comparison
In the main story earlier we said that the female character in the foreground could be a “living incarnation of Link’s Mastersword and I have to agree that they could be onto something. Her cloak looks a similar shape to the swords guard and and the design on her front looks familiar. Also Link is not holding his sword in the concept drawing though he is his shield.”
We have now added the masterfully created image below to show the comparisons. You can see her head represents the sword butt (number 1), her cloak, the swords hand guard (number 2), the gem on her body like the master sword (number 3) and the shape of her legs resembling the hilt of the sword and the gold linings both on her and the sword (number 4). Interesting. Do you think this could be a hint of what to expect from the new Zelda Wii or is it a load of baloney?
